Our loved ones always have the best stories. The ones that are told for years and never get old. But as time passes, our loved ones age and those stories risk being lost forever. We're here to help.
HOW DOES THIS WORK?
Filming:
Show time! And better yet, we come to you! To make it as easy as possible for you and to ensure the subject is the most comfortable we film these videos from the comfort of your own home.
Filming is very straightforward. We arrive on location at the pre-arranged date and time with our camera gear and find a suitable location to film the interview. If needed we have lighting equipment that can be used to make sure the subject looks their best. However, we understand that not everyone is comfortable with large lights and camera equipment so we can adjust accordingly based on the comfort level. This process of setup typically takes around 10-15 minutes.
From there we begin recording. We typically prefer to have a family member on-site to help with asking questions and prompts as that is usually most comfortable for the subject. If needed TMS can help with asking the questions as well as further prompting the subject to get the best answer for the video.
The video can be a single 1 hour interview on the individual or have multiple topics depending on what you are wanting as an end result. Common videos subject include:
- Message to Grandkids/ future kids
- Message to future spouses and couples
- Favorite stories that are told in the family
- Life lessons to the kids / grandkids
- Any other video messages you want...
While filming we understand that not everyone is comfortable with chatting about personal topics with strangers. If needed the cameras can be set up and we can leave to give privacy to the individuals talking.
Editing:
Editing is where the magic happens. Along with the video, photos can also be woven into the video to give context to stories.
Also in editing is where we cut each of the individual stories into their own video to make it easier to find and play.
WHAT IS A LEGACY VIDEO?
Think of a Legacy video as a video biography that captured a person as they tell stories from their life.
Legacy videos are typically filmed in an interview format with the subject talking to someone off-camera.
Legacy videos make the perfect time capsule to capture someone at different points in their life. Typically, we work with the elderly or people facing terminal illnesses who want to pass on video messages to their children, future grandkids, and other important life milestones.
On a lighter note, Legacy videos also make unique gifts that are perfect for anniversaries, birthdays, reunions, and retirement celebrations.
Planning:
The planning process is simple! We encourage our clients to come up with a number of different questions, prompts, or stores that they would like the subject to touch on.
If you are having trouble coming up with questions to ask, we can help you think of some as we have some standard prompts that usually provide a great response!
Delivery:
We offer our videos on USB Flash drives (multiple if requested) as well as host them in the cloud to make it easy to share with friends and family.
